Custom Cre8ions, an aftermarket shop specializing in accessories for the C8 Corvette, has just released something interesting. If you are a fan of the good-old classic supercars, you should check it out.
You see, this shop located in Golden Valley, Minnesota, recreated an engine cover equipped with the replica of the iconic velocity stacks. For some reason, it has people polarized because, well, it is a standard feature for premium cars that our grandparents used to see back in the days. You may have posters or magazines that show cars having these stacks.
The only issue with this aftermarket creation is that Corvette vehicles have been running without carburetors for many decades. Hence, it’s not surprising if C8 owners called it “fake” right away. That’s pretty hilarious, honestly.
However, nobody can downplay the fact that this custom add-on is aesthetically appealing. Of course, we have different tastes when it comes to our Corvettes, but having a piece from the past will not make our beloved supercar antiquated.
We haven’t seen the actual stacks yet. When looking at images, the velocity stacks cover seems to be a replacement for the stock engine cover. Custom Cre8tion said on its website that the installation just involves four bolts and a single clip. Of course, this creation is only compatible with coupes, not convertibles.
The materials for this custom cover is not known. Let’s hope that it is not made entirely of plastic. Our best bet is aluminum, given that it has a surprisingly steep price of $1,495. Custom Cre8ions said that this cost would cover the paint to its base so that it can match your C8’s color.
Accordingly, this custom cover will be commercially available in February 2021. If you find it appealing, you can pre-order on its maker’s site.
