When it comes to powerful pickup trucks, only a few places in the world have a soft spot for them. Of course, one of them is the United States. Fortunately, our southern neighbor Australia is also an excellent market for these burly and rugged vehicles.
In fact, Australia-based tuning shop Walkinshaw Performance just released a tease of its very own version of a performance pickup truck: a Chevy Silverado 1500 equipped with a large blower to its engine. When it comes to tuning and upgrading offroaders, the Walkinshaw Performance is an aftermarket expert. Its latest packages, Fury 1 and Fury 2, do not lag in the power department.
An Instagram post from the tuning shop unveils the immersive and compelling sound of the supercharged V8 engine of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500. If we are talking about the stock package, Silverado 1500 already boasts a 6.2-liter V8 engine that generates up to 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
Once the supercharger kit from Walkinshaw Performance is installed, you can guarantee that its horsepower skyrockets to 670; its peak torque will be at 630 lb-ft, too! By doing the math, the spike in power is more than 50%. This increase is due to the “Fury Pack” options that the company offers, alongside some mods on exterior and interior.
Specifically, the Fury 1 package puts 18-inch Method wheels that are fully enclosed in an all-terrain Goodyear tire. It also comes with a custom sports exhaust system and a two-inch lift. For finishing touches, Walkinshaw Performance also gave the Silverado 1500 a shadow chrome tailgate badge with some distinct Fury decals. Meanwhile, the Fury 2 features the following inclusions: 20-inch Method wheels wrapped in 285/60 rubber and six-piston brake calipers.
Sadly, such powerful kits are hard to ship into the United States, given that we still have tight restrictions.
