It is undeniable that Chevrolet is the best-selling GM line in the United States. The majority of its sales are pickup trucks. But at the same time, SUVs are closing in, thanks to Traverse and Equinox.
To further improve the marketability of these SUVs, Chevy decided to add more options for them. For the 2021 model year, Chevrolet has already included the Traverse Midnight Edition to the LT, and LS trims. They will feature a sleek monochromatic design.
This package is only available in Mosaic Black Metallic color, though. It comes with black aluminum wheels, roof rails, badging, and a black ice grille. The two trim levels will feature a 3.6-liter V6 engine and nine-speed automatic transmission. The 6-cylinder engine is capable of generating 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. Its fuel economy is pretty impressive, too, as it is rated at 21 miles per gallon.
The Traverse LS and Traverse LT for their 2021 model year can also be equipped with the Sport Edition package. The latter is almost the same as Midnight Edition. The only exception is that the Sport Edition package allows customers to pick the exterior color for the SUVs.
Come 2022, Chevrolet will also release a new trim for the Equinox. Based on the reports, it will come with the RS trim because of its saleability. Accordingly, the trim holds one-third of the sales of both small and mid-size SUVs. Furthermore, around 140,000 RS trims have been sold in the United States since 2018.
The Equinox RS will arrive as a fancy ride, thanks to its black bowtie, glossy dark mesh grille, and Dark Android Wheels. Its interior will showcase a sleek black upholstery with red stitching.
