We all know that the Ram TRX has set an over-the-top benchmark when it comes to performance pickup trucks. This all-new vehicle is rigged with 702 horsepower, which is insanely strong even among its class. Furthermore, this unit does not take four seconds before it can reach 60 mph, which enabled it to outclass the F-15O Raptor. To respond to this, a newly pumped Raptor model is coming to the market, which is based on the 2021 Ford F-150. Many are expecting that it can match the power and ruggedness of the Ram TRX.
However, it is not just the Raptor that wants to compete against the monster TRX. Hennessey, a known aftermarket tuner, also manufactured its vehicle to pit against Ram’s prized beast. And apparently, it is more potent than the rest.
The Texas-based company unveiled the 2021 Hennessey Venom 800 Supercharged, which is anchored on the designs of the 2021 F-150 Platinum Edition SuperCrew. According to Hennessey, the donor truck utilizes the robust 5.0-liter V8 engine of Ford. It also comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission, as opposed to the conventional EcoBoost motor that this brand uses.
And while it is true that a factory-fresh Coyote V8 is not as powerful as the turbocharged V6, Hennessey was still able to tweak it, making the Venom 800 Supercharged to become the most robust Ford truck as to date.
Hennessey’s Performance Engineering also integrated a 3.0-liter supercharger system to the truck, which, in turn, enabled it to generate 8 PSI of boost pressure. Furthermore, its V8 engine also takes advantage of a high-flow cold air induction system, stainless steel exhaust system, calibrated fuel pump system, chassis dyno engine calibration, and E85 flex-fuel sensor. These upgrades doubled its power–from 400 to 805 HP at 6,200 RPM. It also got a 727 lb-ft of torque at 4,100 RPM. In short, Venom’s power is 100 HP higher than RAM TRX. However, it is important to note that such a capability can only be unleashed if the vehicle uses E85 fuel.
“We’ve only used our Venom trademark on a small number of very special vehicles in the 29-year history of our company, said John Hennessey, CEO and founder of the tuning company. “We feel that the new F-150 with our 805 bhp Supercharged upgrade is worthy of the Venom name.”
In a drag race, the Venom 800 Supercharged can step up against the Ram TRX. It can hit 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds; it can complete a quarter-mile in roughly 12 seconds while clocking at 116 mph. Braking is not a problem for this machine, thanks to its Brembo 6-piston calipers and large 15.1-inch steel rotors. It also boasts an off-road suspension system, all-terrain tires, and enhanced shocks.
