Tesla is an all-electric vehicle. Hence, any conventional engine should not fit on it, right?
Well, technically, that should be the case. But some brilliant and tenacious people out there can’t just stop their hands from tugging the impossible. We are talking to the folks from the YouTube channel Rich Rebuilds.
In an episode they just freshly uploaded on January 3, 2021, the team showed how they are progressing on this attempt. We say progress because they have one video uploaded roughly two weeks ago, showing a hilarious introduction on the first LS V8 Tesla. The video posted here is a highlight reel of the actual process of building the said vehicle.
Let us tell you that this video is not yet the finale. Just wait one week or more, and we’ll be able to see the completion of this mechanical stunt.
But despite not being the final part of the series, this video is worth watching. It explains how they came up with the idea of putting the LS V8 Engine from a Chevy Camaro into a Tesla Model S.
Keep in mind that they used multiple cars to accomplish this one-of-a-kind innovation. A damaged white Tesla S became their primary guinea pig here; they also have other Tesla vehicles where they salvaged some parts. They had to do this to rebuild the transmission tunnel and strengthen the chassis of the white Tesla. After all, the small V8 block is heavy. Furthermore, the Model S had parts removed from the front end to cater to the engine.
Let us give you a little spoiler before you watch the video: it is doable!
